Spring 2012 T by Alexander Wang Campaign featuring Die Antwoord

I don't know about you but part of the attraction of fashion for me has a lot to do with the music. Last spring, Die Antwoord was featured in the ad campaign for T by Alexander Wang. It didn't really show much of the clothes but it worked because it sold something even more important to me: attitude. And so I thought to myself, how will the master of urban chic be able to top that campaign? How wrong I was... If I remember correctly, it was around that time when Azzealia Banks' hit single 212 exploded in the fashion universe. Not a man to lose a good opportunity, the next campaign, also from T by Alexander Wang, featured Banks singing her hit song Van Vogue.

Fall 2012 T by Alexander Wang Campaign featuring Azzealia Banks

Fast forward to Spring 2013 and we see Alexander Wang's next featuring act Bon Qui Qui from MADtv as a "salesperson" at his NYC flagship. For those who don't know, Bon Qui Qui is a character played by Anjelah Johnson in Madtv's comedy sketch as a 90s ghetto counter girl at "King Burger". Other cameo appearances include A$AP Rocky, actress Natasha Lyonne and creative ambassador of Barney's Simon Doonan. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us next time! (See what I did there?
