An exhibition not to be missed, Isabelle Chapuis and Alex VI present a photographic show that merges the world of fashion and light at the underground XXX gallery. A quick word with Isabelle enlightened me of her fashion textiles background which can easily be traced in her editorial-worthy photographs. Fashion and art intertwine through her unorthodox use of textiles, giving her photographs a surrealistic quality.
Alex, a manipulator of light, paints iconic landscapes with streaks of light to imply a certain movement and energy to his environment.
Together, Isabelle and Alex treated the crowd for an unforgettable presentation on the opening night with an impressive light show. With the models glistening from their oil covered skins, they stood on stage in complete darkness while Alex moved light fixtures around the models. Seeing the projection of his images live was truly breathtaking as we got to observe the magical process behind his light exposures.
A nice surprise was seeing my friend Lingzi, who I met at the PoHo Bazaar, getting her hair and makeup done for the performance. Catch my streetstyle snapshot of her on Style on Pottinger!
My blog partner Jin Wong (jinwong.com) at Style on Pottinger and Nicole, the one who got me blogging from The Fashion Wonton was also there to see the show.
