[OOTD] Neon Neoprene x McQ Alexander McQueen Paterson Street Store Opening

So I finally got the chance to do an OOTD shoot in the dark after the McQ store opening on Patterson Street! (all of which I owe to my blogging BFF Emmy C at Girl Gone Vogue)

If there's one item I've been longing to get, it would probably have to be this neoprene sweater I spotted at Åland. So here I was thinking I had done enough shopping at the Harvey Nichols sale... all until my eyes caught sight of this oversized silhouette. Oh, the joys of Korean fashion!

Of course, I had to ensure there was an appropriate event for this sweater to "broken in". McQ, the diffusion line for Alexander McQueen, recently opened its first stand-alone store at the fashionable Causeway Bay district on 51 Paterson Street. Joining me at the event was no other than Emmy C where we also bumped into fellow fashion bloggers Krisha S and Karen C.

While the clothes on display weren't exactly groundbreaking, I have to applaud the PR (thanks for the invite A-VIBE!) for inviting local bar/restaurant Bricklane with their killer cocktails. They were so good I had to get myself a second round... (something I rarely do at events - how could I resist crushed strawberries, vodka and a dash of flavoured smoke?)

Anyways, I digress...

As I had earlier mentioned, I've always thought photo shooting at night is much more atmospheric than the usual sunlit OOTD shoots. What's more, Emmy and I were lucky to be surrounded by this hectic urban jungle with a crazy zebra-crossing outside Sogo as our backdrop - one that can easily rival that of the infamous Shibuya crossing in Tokyo.

Also worth noting if you decide to do a shoot at night is lighting. Bumping up the ISO and using longer exposures means more patience and a steadier hand while shooting. None of my jumping shots made the cut but Emmy fortunately caught some awesome ones around Fashion Walk. Hope you like them as much as I do!
